My name is Dana Emans, and I'll be your child's Special Education teacher this year. This is my 25th year teaching in Bridgman with the last 23 of those at RMS. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Western Michigan University in 1994. I have two daughters and live in St. Joseph. We have chosen to send our daughters to Bridgman Schools as School of Choice students. We've found that Bridgman teachers take the time to get to know all the students and communicate with parents to make school a success!
My mission as a special education teacher is to help your child improve the skills they need to succeed in their school career. By following the goals that have been created in their IEPs, we'll make sure that your child improves and progresses through their grade easily. Your child will be supported in all of their classes at RMS - Math, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts - to assist them with their classwork. The classroom teacher and I work closely together and also work one-on-one or in small groups with students in the classroom. Students will also get extra instruction on specific skills during Study Skills class.
Communication between school and home is an important part of your child's success in school. Please feel free to email me anytime, send a note with your child, or call or set up an appointment to see me during my Planning Time (1:29-3:05pm).
